The Grappling Hook adds a tempting escape option to ARC Raiders, but speed alone does not make a route safe. Whether you are gathering materials or browsing ARC Raiders BluePrints while planning your next loadout, the same principle applies: movement equipment should help protect your haul, not encourage unnecessary exposure.

With the hook arriving alongside Frozen Trail, the useful question is where it leaves you after the movement ends. A dramatic climb means little if the landing point has no cover, no onward route, and an opponent watching your arrival.

Choose the Landing Before the Launch

Before committing to a grapple, look beyond the attachment point. Identify somewhere to break line of sight, then check how you would leave that position on foot. A ledge with a sheltered exit is usually more valuable than a taller perch that leaves you exposed.

Vertical movement is particularly useful when ordinary routes force you through a dangerous opening. Crossing to another level can change the direction of an encounter, but only if the destination offers something better than the ground you are leaving.

Be careful with isolated rooftops and narrow platforms. They may look secure from below while offering little room to move once you arrive. If your next step depends entirely on another grapple, reconsider the first one.

Keep an Escape Option Until Pressure Builds

Using the hook at the first sign of trouble can exchange a manageable situation for a difficult landing. When nearby cover still provides a workable exit, ordinary movement may preserve more choices than an immediate climb.

Against ARC pressure, think about separation rather than height alone. Your destination should interrupt the immediate threat and give you space to assess the surroundings. Moving upward without considering nearby enemies can simply relocate the danger.

Before leaving shelter, decide what would justify using the hook. A blocked retreat, an exposed crossing, or pressure from multiple directions gives the movement a clear purpose. That decision is easier to make before the fight becomes chaotic.

Change Angles Without Advertising Your Next Move

During PvP, the hook can create an unexpected approach, but obvious high points deserve caution. If a position looks like the natural destination from your current cover, another player may already be watching it.

A less dramatic landing can be more useful. Aim for a position that lets you observe, withdraw, or continue toward extraction rather than forcing an immediate exchange. Repositioning does not have to become an attack.

After landing, reassess instead of standing still to admire the new angle. Check nearby cover and your onward route before committing further.

Whether you research equipment yourself or browse cheap ARC Raiders BluePrints between runs, treat the Grappling Hook as a route decision: choose a useful landing, retain a walking exit, and prioritize reaching extraction.
